Generally speaking... 1 gallon of HD paint will cover most home theaters. However many larger home theaters and theaters for commercial use can be larger. In which case stay tuned for our estimator calculator which is coming soon.

If you have an HD projector and low light in the room then go with S1 Screen Paint Silver.
If you have an HD projector and lots of light in the room then go with the S1 Ultimate Contrast.
If you have a 3D projector then go with our 3DHD paint.
If you have a non-hd projector and low light in the room then go with Pure Mica White.
If you have a non-hd projector and lots of light in the room then go with the S1 Screen Paint Silver.

Yes. In fact, each paint is formulated to combat natural light using special particles that are mixed into the paint. Our higher quality paints will combat natural light better.

1 gallon can cover up to 170 square feet or a 240” diagonal.

We do offer some of the paints in a quart size.

Yes.

The paint has been formulated with special particles that help increase the amount of light (from the projector) that reflects back to the viewer. This results in a clearer picture. The particles also help to combat natural and artificial lighting. The grey tone of some of the paints also helps to display a truer black color and prevents white colors from drowning out.

The silver tone helps to display a truer black color and prevents whites from drowning out.

Gain is the amount of light that is reflected back to the viewer. Essentially the more gain, the better the picture, but the smaller the viewing angle.

The viewing angle changes with the amount of natural light, project type, and distance from screen. It would be tough to give specifics because there are a lot of variables.

Our paint is a satin finish.

Our paint is water based.

You can, but we don’t recommend it. If you decide to tint the paint your warranty will be void.

It’s not required, but we recommend it in order to get the most out of the paint and create the highest quality image. We recommend using any flat white latex primer that you can pick up from your local hardware store.

All of our paints, except the 3DHD paint, should be applied with a mirco-fiber roller. Our 3DHD paint must be sprayed on. Detailed installation instructions will be sent with the product.

We recommend applying 2 even coats. Be sure to wait 24 hours between coats.

It can take up to 48 hours for the paint to completely dry.

The paint can be applied to any porous surface including: wood, drywall, concrete, and fabric. Note: if applied to fabric the fabric should be fixed. Rolling the fabric may cause the paint to crack. (for drywall, we recommend putting down a basic flat white primer first)

Yes. Just remember that when you paint over a screen that screen will no longer have the ability to roll up.

We are located in Utah. All orders are shipped directly from our manufacturer’s warehouse in Virginia.

Once your paint is received, inspected, and approved for a refund your credit card or original method of payment will be credited the amount of the order minus shipping costs. Please note that depending on your credit card company, it may take an additional 2-10 business days after your credit is applied for it to post to your account.
