Top 10 Advantages of Home Theater Screen Paint

Posted July 2, 2011 by chasesagum | 0 comments

1. If your screen gets a "ding", just paint over it!

It's paint! And when you get a scratch, scrape, chip etc. in your wall you have the ability to quickly touch it up with some paint. And HD theater paint works the same way. Much more long-term and cost-efficient than having to replace an entire projector screen.

2. WAY more cost effective a.k.a cheaper than HD projector screens

For a high quality High Definition projector screen you're looking at somewhere in the ball-park of $1,500 to $5,000. Yikes. Instead you can buy a gallon of paint for about $200 and have just as good if not better of a visual experience.

3. No Aspect Ratio funkyness

Depending on the aspect ratio of a given projector and/or movie, projector screens can give you some seriously ugly issues with borders and gray or black space. With paint on screens you don't run into this issue. Read the Tech Specs page for more details on this.

4. Less bulky. Looks much better in a room.

Forget having some big bulky projector screen hanging on your wall that you have to roll up whenever you want to use the room for other purposes. It's almost like the paint on screen theater doesn't even exist when you're not using it.

5. No "Rolling-Up" issues

Projector screens have issues over time when being rolled-up over and over again. Although often times you won't see any physical damage from the naked eye, the small pixel defects over time mount up... and cause the screen to lose effectiveness. Especially when dealing with HD or 3D video.

6. More contrast flexibility based on lighting

One of the cool benefits of products like Paint on Screen is the ability to customize the screen depending on the need for contrast. If you are putting a home theater in let's say your basement... then you would go after a more white tone. But for the more natural lit rooms you still have options because you can go with a more silver tone that will still give you the sharp image you need. Even though the room is well lit.

7. Paint produces a better visual experience

HD Paint in general along with a high quality HD projector helps put off an amazing visual display like you've rarely ever seen. It improves the projection in 6 main areas. Gain. Contrast. Ambient Light Rejection. Resolution. Uniformity. And Flat Spectral Response.

8. DIY friendly

If you can paint you can install these home theater screens yourself. And since most of us have painted at least once in our lives we know how easy this can be. Installing a $5,000 projector screen however. That's a different story!

9. Works with the lights on!

I touched on this a little earlier under number 6. Many commercial buildings, churches etc. are using the S1 Silver HD product to project onto a wall while keeping the room well lit. They are accomplishing this without losing any effectiveness.

10. Way more coverage

You can purchase a restricted size for a projector screen for an exorbitant amount or... you can get 2 gallons of HD paint and be able to paint an entire wall! Which one would you rather have? For $200/gallon it's a pretty easy decision.
